25 Years of the Same Problem
CertiFloor's founder spent 25 years in the flooring industry watching the same pattern: specifications written, requirements ignored or overlooked, flooring fails, everybody points fingers, owners pay.
The problem was never the products. It was never the specifications. It was the complete absence of independent verification during installation — when the conditions that determine success or failure are still visible.
CertiFloor was built to close that gap.
Track Record
1.4 million square feet commissioned. Zero failures. Not luck — verified compliance prevents the failures that unverified work creates.
Independence
Owner-retained. No financial relationship with installers or manufacturers. Our only obligation is to document what happened accurately.
We Don't Prescribe Means and Methods
We verify compliance with the contractor's chosen means and methods against manufacturer requirements. We don't tell installers how to do their work. We document whether manufacturer requirements were met. This preserves clear responsibility: contractors install, we verify, owners decide.
Specification Support
We help architects and specifiers write Flooring Commissioning into their projects. We provide sample specification language for Section 01 91 63 and review Division 09 flooring sections to ensure commissioning requirements are clear. We don't write your specs — we make sure the commissioning scope is right.
Architect Protection
When flooring fails, the owner's attorney contacts the architect too. If Flooring Commissioning was specified and the neutral evidentiary record shows the contractor deviated from specifications, that documentation shows what was specified, what was verified, and where deviation occurred. It protects everyone who did their job right.
Continuing Education
AIA CES provider with HSW-approved courses:
- "Preventing Commercial Flooring Failures"

Health, Safety, and Welfare credits — the hardest to earn and the most relevant to your practice.
The Proof Packet
Every project receives a comprehensive commissioning report: substrate test verification, environmental data, installation observations, photographs, and deviation log. This is the neutral evidentiary record that enforces warranties and resolves disputes with facts.
